New Quest/New Map - Curse Of Greed (spoilers??)

This is the third map quest of the game and is a lot of fun. Take your time and enjoy the challenge, even the higher level players found this challenging enough to not rush. Get your Black Pearls ready because you will need plenty of them. There is also an awesome reward three quarters in to the quest (I don't want to spoil it for you.. Yet ... but keep reading past the spoiler alert to find out). Dont however expect any magical rewards that help produce black pearls by the end. This is the quest you want to do if you want to expand land, unlock map sections, chop lots of trees and fight the pirate hoardes. You will need to reach level 34 to unlock items for the quest tasks. If you have any more questions about this quest they've probably been answered somewhere in this forum post so read on and good luck!

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

A big thank you to everyone who helped build this quest log.

Also, I'm not sure what the level requirements are but in the least i assume you'd have to have finished the second map quest The Hidden Ziggurat.

Thanks! So weird. When I went back in to expand, that step was completed. I hadn't tapped on any of my arrows. Good news though.

So where's this "lonesome tree" that I need to chop to start this quest?

On the island with the stone tower with a light blue light and "bubbles" coming up. Past the island with the nest on the post. I don't know if it was a particular tree or not, but I had expanded there a couple of times. I think it was in the third plot of land in the center of the island.

Yes, that's where I expanded too, I clicked the green expansion arrow, and the quest turned up!

It actually feels weird to not have to rush through as quickly as possible!

It wasn't a tree of any significance. I just noticed I had failed to chop it down amidst my comings and goings. I guess when I did chop it the game considered it an attempt at expansion and opened the new quest for me.

Had you already done the "build a bridge maker" and the floating candles quests before this one showed up?

Yes. I had those done a few levels back so that was at least a month ago. Considering its an entirely new map I think the only requirement would be to finish The Hidden Ziggurat map quest. The Floating Flames quest was only a side quest I think, but I could be wrong.. Because I usually am.

Do you need to update the game to get this new quest?

I not think this was from the update because dark angel had it before I think. You don't need bridge maker because I haven't built that merchant yet. It is next on my list.

Well I'm pretty sure I expanded to the bird's nest.... wait it's near Illustrious Ilian right? I don't know why, but I'm still on the Hidden Ziggarut quest when I already beat it, unless this curse of greed one is the third map. If not, can someone tell me what is?

I've always wondered what that statue on the second island was doing there..... maybe it's for this map.

It is definitely part of the third map. Because I had expanded there a while ago (birds nest) I only needed to exit out of my game completely, wait a minute or so and reopen it. Looks like the very next tree I chopped activated it for me from that point. The good ol exit, wait, reopen strategy works every time a quest requires an expansion to a monument I've already expanded to. Saved me lots of time and coins I have already invested which is a good feature/loop-hole. One of the bugs I hope they don't fix.

Hazah! TBH this feature/glitch always makes me feel like I've gotten the upper hand on PG/TPC which entices me to play on with more vigor. It also fooled me in to spending $1billion coins just now because I was feeling greedy. I only needed the expansion so I could chop 5 more trees. Too bad I can't chop all those willow trees I bought to border my mansion and the acreage it sits on LOL

Ok. I won't tell you I paid $1bil for land. All I'll say is because most of the quest tasks were completing themselves, like the expansions, merchant upgrades I think I just got caught up in the rolling hype. Gaaah.. What have I done? LOL

You've been to the Gold Coast? That's awesome! I've never been to the UK but its definitely on my bucket list. Was living in Canada last November, but you've most definitely walked streets I've walked which is pretty cool. The world is such a small place isn't it.
