Someone at PG has a sick sense of humour. Todays quests are:

Ripple of Hope! (all hope is gone for the future of SP)
Rake in the Money! (I guess they were not raking in enough from SP)

New doesnt make a bit of difference to any of us. I personally like new it is fresh and interesting. Old is also good but in a different way of course.

Lena, hang on for a while. I am replying now but it takes time to type.

Mike. I know what time it is in the UK so can I nag and say 'get some work done or I will snitch to the boss.' Ha ha.

It is NOT a one size fits all. I am still having fun.

There's time...a couple of months before the plug is pulled on the Events. And after that, I imagine those who still have things to finish up in their games will be around the forum. Some, of course will have vamoosed for good...and they will be missed.

I had a change of heart and signed back in and will continue to play. Will now use rubies for a casino blowout instead of superfruit.

I read this thread yesterday and decided not to post anything for 24 hours so that I could have time to sleep on it. I have just had an unpleasant conversation with Mr Tinker at which I had to tell him that despite all his hard work crafting level 10 gemstones over the last two years I was making him redundant. I explained that with no searching events I would not be acquiring the shards needed to keep him employed. He was understandably concerned about Mrs Tinker and all the little Tinkers, but I offered him 150 million gold coins (all I have) as his redundancy payment and he seemed to cheer up. He said that he had seen how beautiful Hawaii was and with that kind of money he could move the family there.

So what of me. Well I have decided to stay until the end and set myself the following goals.

    1. To keep my position as the player who has completed the most bandit runs by competing in the few that remain.
    2. To post updated high scores for iron ore, timeseeds and level 10 gemstones towards the end of December.
    3. To master the EG crisis passage. I have unlocked all the scenes (68 so far) but have never played most of them except when they occasionally crop up in the challenge passage. Therefore, over xmas I will play them all until I get a perfect run in each one. When I have managed this, then I will consider all aspects of the game mastered and I will call it a day.

I have not decided yet if I will actually uninstall SP in the new year. Probably not, I will probably log in once a day if only to collect my 2500 useless rubies and if I get bored maybe even play a scene or two for old time sakes. I am even thinking that in 6 months or so when I have forgotten most of the scenes, it might be interetsting to get PG to reset my game and start over. I will definitely still monitor the forum, if only to hear what the friends I have made playing this game get up to.

So the end of SP is near, but life goes on.

This is a great post, Mike. Pragmatic, thoughtful and a display of British wit that my attempt at sleeping on it unfortunately did not inspire. I found myself yesterday writing a post, hitting cancel, writing, cancelling, and so on. Maybe I'll be more coherent by the weekend....

In the meantime, I did want to say to Kiwicanuck that I was very moved by your story. Your strength and fortitude shine through in the way you play. You are an inspiration.

And to Lehana, welcome to the forum. As you are still at an early level in the game, there remains much to explore and enjoy and a wealth of game play tips here on the forum. I have yet to read them all myself!

Thanks for those nice words Girlpolarfox.

I also spent some time reflecting on the different postings on the forum and wonder if twelve months from now someone would look at the HOF and wonder what the heck we were talking about. What is BB, where do I find ruby seedlings, what weekend challenges are they talking about, what the heck is a leaderboard. Etc, you get the picture. We were part of something very special and oh what fun we had achieving those HOF numbers. The friendly and sometimes not so friendly rivalry, the great postings during the events and the unlimited support for fellow players no matter which group. Just think those records can never be broken.

Gotta, how about going for BBBB just for the record. I also wondered if we could really screw the leaderboards up with the last BB challenge. Forumers unite and see how many of us can earn BB status. The record is eight in one group and I was a very proud member of that eight.

I've been fairly quiet because I've been on jury duty for over a week and they confiscate our phones, so I'm still processing all your posts. I've been touched by how much this game has meant to so many of us, especially Kiwi's heartfelt message. My own experience was not as dire as hers, but it is full of resonant memories -- I started playing when sitting with my mother in hospitals, rehab, and ultimately hospice during her last couple of months (she was 94). I'm in for a Facebook group, and let's do see if we can get together somewhere else (but Gotta, I tried TPC and couldn't get interested). And in the meantime, there's still plenty to do. I like Mike's idea of learning the E.G. Dune sites -- I'm in the same position. And I still have a few E.G. Keys to earn on dig sites that I never gathered them all from. I doubt I'll actually get to the BB stage -- I just don't have the patience -- but I may go for it in December sometime.

I am very much in favor of a Facebook group. Dr. Tammy mentioned that we still have quilting conversations to have. I posted a picture of a quilt I have been working on in the off topic sub forum. That quilt when it is all quilted will be donated to a local charity that my mom made quilts for and donated them.
    Level 117 just in time.

    Ha, ha, ha . . .

What a load of rubbish (as you Brits say)! Who do you think you are? Some neo-modernistic descendent of Charles D*i*c*kens-only-slightly-more-twisted? Let me re-write a Christmas Carol starring Mike as the friendly version of Scrooge humbly (very umble indeed, sir) allowing his Tinker (er, Bob Cratchit) to go on vacation with a little of Scrooge's coin in his pocket! What does that make me? Tiny Gotta (God bless us everyone, even PG) or the Ghost of Kingdom of Cheer Past? LMAO! And what, no real shot at PG for ripping our hearts out and showing it to us!

Well, I'll give you this brother, your prose lands somewhere between Chaucer and Orwell and just south of the Bard himself, but don't hold your breath waiting for that OBE medal from the Queen. And even if it does come, I knew you before it, so I don't have to call you "Sir Mike" and tell Queenypoo over there that Gotta has a better Order of Excellence . . . it's called the Billionaire Bandits . . . and we already call you "Sir" over here. So take that! LMFAO!

Okay, what did Dr. Tammy tell me . . . something about identifying triggers that could worsen my illness . . . alright, focus, center myself, feel the sand in the sandbox around me . . .

Phew, the evil Gotta is now gone and the normal Gotta is back.

As far as the Iron Ore record is concerned, I think you've got that one unless a dark horse comes around. As far as the Level 10 Jewels are concerned, unless GD pops his Maths' head up and has been making jewels, I think you have that one too. Regarding the most BB runs, who else could it have been, seriously? If Widget was still around, even he wouldn't have been able to challenge your diligence towards that record. Tams, Widgy and I may have been the founding members, but I think it's safe to say, you're the backbone of the BB's.

As far as being friends . . . . well, priceless!

I will never forget the man and what he meant to me.

I can relate. I downloaded the game around Jan/Feb 2014. Played sporadically until April of that year. My father had a massive heart attack in April. Triple bypass surgery. I played while sitting in hospital for 18 hrs each day for the precious three visits a day. After two weeks, he passed (he was 84). For some reason, afterwards, playing helped. Then, I discovered forums. And the game became a goal.

A knighthood for services to SP, I think not if I am to be Scrooge, you sound more like Donald trump so this time next week we might have to call you Mr President! Actually I wish you were Donald trump, because then you could buy PG out of your loose change, install new management and reverse some of their decisions

It occurred to me yesterday that maybe control of the leader boards is contracted out, the contract expires January 1, and it's too expensive to be renewed. That would also explain why, when the leaderboard gets messed on Friday it takes so long for PG to acknowledge the problem, and even longer to fix it (have it fixed). Maybe that's why The Peaceful Warrior won't unlock - maybe it's all third party.

    Wilsoooon,

I was wondering about the notification process concerning the Events Ending...those who read the forum have been given a heads-up and now have the opportunity to plan how they might proceed...i.e., unload some of their assets in the remaining Events, craft gems, etc. Those players who may not read, or even be aware of the forum, but who compete regularly in the Events may be in for a shockeroo at the beginning of the new year...unaware of the bombshell dropped November 1.

Seems a little unfair to the non-forumers...any plans to notify Everyone via a pop-up or something?

Oh, never mind, I guess...I just read again your OP which states we are "the first to know" which suggests some general notification later.
