Speaking of questions, I spent an hour last night composing a PM answering some of yours and giving you my opinion about other things and when I tried to send it your mailbox was full again. All my work down the drain, boo hoo. Clear some space sister! You need to keep all 50 slots open so your admiring fans can talk to you in private.

Also, it looks like you made Maddie and Justin cousins in your storyline. That leaves the door wide open for Jeff to swoop in doesn't it. Very clever.
Of course they are cousins didn't you know? They are obviously not siblings but still family to my mind anyway. I always thought of them as cousins from the beginning. Stop trying to second guess me and spoil my story.

Yes it is q question for the public. Matti has a good idea of the answer I think but, of course, will my full box she hasn't been able to get in touch either. I hope you got it right Mats.

Sal your story is getting better and better.

All of you I am behind with reading yours and publishing mine. Sorry guys but it has been a bit of a bad day at SE Headquarters but will get to it just as soon as I can.

    SE, I pm'd you.

It is a busy weekend for me so I won't be posting my day 4,5,6 and 7 until late Sunday or earlyish Monday morning (eastern time). I will still be spinning away just no time to post.

Tonight, I snuck in to the casino and quietly watched from a smoke filled corner. a more mature lady than I seemed to be having luck at her machine. Luring her away with a good story about a blue masked bandit badmouthing SP, (she felt compelled to calm the man), I helped myself to her machine. The rouse was for naught...losses again.

Off to find the Chianti party I passed on the way in.

Mike. Just got down to your very funny story. More please. It was the little things like the DJ, it set the sceen for me.
Lurchy more from you as well.

General comment to all budding writers of tales of daring do. I love the way you have interwoven other peoples characters with your own. For me the results are magical and something I cannot do. It will be a shame when the contest is over.

Edit. If anyone wishes to comment on my Thursday episode please do not guess about the identity unless you do it by PM as it is getting more and more dificult to keep it balanced.

SE, last heard "Lurchy your love" was dumpster diving for Chianti bottles near the Casino. He may have fallen asleep in there.
Someone might want to check the local landfill.

It was supposed to be but Lurch talked me in to a full Seven days but the I think I did a PG clock a shaved some time off say the finish was midnight rather than 9am PG time. Now all these time zones have got me totally confused.
Checking post one. Checked and I am still confused so seven days still confuses me. Unless anyone wants to change my mind then:-

    BY LUCE RULES
THE CONTEST CLOSES AT 26th SUNDAY MIDNIGHT PG TIME. 27th MONDAY UK TIME.
    Work out the rest yourselves.

7 FULL DAYS SPINS TO BE ENTERED.
All this made up on the spur because my co-host seems to have deserted my for a chianti bottle, dumpster, or a certain woman of whom I will say no more.

The morning sun danced through the window panes, filling the little wine bottle house with a soft golden light. I awoke feeling rested and refreshed, ready to continue my journey to the Mayan ruins. Holly Golightly, that's what I'm calling the artistic British lady now, had been up for a few hours and had already completed a new large scale sculpture, penned a small volume of poetry, and composed a concerto for lute and thumb piano. Very prolific, this one.

Over breakfast, we chatted some more...talking mainly about her unusual dwelling. I remarked that there was something very soothing and special about her space, that when you were inside it felt as if you were outdoors, surrounded by the wonders of nature. I also marveled at how she was able to amass so many bottles to construct it. She said, "That was the easy part. Me likes me drinkipoos ." She did say that early on she had run into a major design problem that was eventually resolved in the strangest way. She told me, "I had been gathering mushrooms all day, had made a lovely tea with some of them, and was just sitting around waiting for Happy Hour, when suddenly the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright materialized right here in my kitchen!" She said he gave her a few design tips, explained the hidden meaning behind the phrase "less is more" and then just sort of vanished as quickly as he came...poof. So long, Frank Lloyd Wright...

The big hoo haa was starting up again at the Casino. Wild Woman with unique hair came roaring in on her motorcycle and parked in her Reserved space marked "Meeeee Besssst". I thanked Golightly for her hospitality and said I must be going if I wanted to be at the Ruins in time to witness the major eclipse that was to occur. I told her I hoped our paths would cross again someday, gave her black Lab a pet, and headed out the door.

    "Que sera sera," she said.
I could hear "Moon River" playing as I made my way under the blazing Mayan sun.

    Great entertainment.

As I am poor, the kind casino manager has allowed to watch the festivities from the peanut gallery.

    Bon chance!
Pville, I am going to have a talk with that casino manager. The bandit who stole the 10,000 coins from my free spin looks suspiciously similar to you. You might think of becoming "background 1" instead of observing from the peanut gallery.

Thanks, been planning that ending all week. Took me the first three days to think of it, then three days to set the scene.

Welcome back Debz ...I can only imagine what your stories would have been like...lol.

    - - - Updated - - -

I made it to the Ruins just in time to witness the final phase of the eclipse. The sky had turned totally dark and was slowly changing to a deep cobalt blue. A low frequency hum hung in the atmosphere. Many people had come, a rumor had been circulating for months that something truly spectacular would occur with this event. I think I spied "Lurchy her love" from the Casino. He had set up shop underneath a mango tree and was telling "knock knock" jokes. I was heading in his direction to have a few laughs when it happened.

We all saw it. The Mother Ruby. The giant sacred stone which some believe to be a portal to higher dimensions. It hovered above us for what seemed like an eternity, then suddenly exploded into tiny droplets which turned to little rubies when they hit the ground. Everyone rushed to pick up what they could. I just held my hand out and one fell right into my palm. It was still warm from the explosion but I was able to examine it and noticed a mysterious inscription on one of the facets. Every stone had this same strange writing.

I began to ask around, inquiring if anyone was familiar with the language on the stones. No one had a clue. Finally, one of the locals said that the only person who might be able to help was a very wise woman who lived deep in the jungle. I decided to seek out this reclusive sage.

It didn't take long to find her really, to reach her camp. I came upon her lounging in a hammock, munching on her "new favorite snack", nutella on vanilla wafers. I remarked at how easy it was to find her, how the locals said it would be next to impossible. "I know, she chuckled, It's called 'hiding in plain sight'...they pass by me all the time and don't even see me." She offered me a snack which I accepted...always been a fan of the vanilla wafer, an unpretentious cookie.

"May I see it?" she asked. I handed her the little ruby with the cryptic writing. "Ah, she said, I've seen this before. It's Anunnaki...the idea has been around forever, but sadly, gets lost or forgotten at times. Usually an event such as the one you just experienced will revive it." She told me it was a simple, yet elegant, concept.

"Be Kind" she said. "That's all it means"...

I've been back home in Indiana for some time now and often reflect on that time in Maya, the Casino, the wild cast of characters, the eclipse. Sometimes I wonder, "Did that really happen?" I think it did, but truly I don't know for sure...though I do still have that strange little ruby. And honestly, I don't know if any of "this" is real either. I should probably go put on my self hugging jacket now.

    "Row, row, row your boat
    Gently down the stream
    Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
    Life is but a dream"

As i put in my updated post, #19, I have enjoyed these stories so much. I hated creative writing. Great at the mechanics of editing and grammar, but no real imagination. I was great at plagiarizing though. LOL

I just re-read some of mine and counted. I 'recon about 1/2 the main story is just a sort of plair...... that thing you said.
One bit may have come from Piers Anthony, maybe dear lamented Terry Prattchet n some others. The bringing them together is all me so you know who to kick.
When I was at school Dyslexicia was unheard of so I was plagued with 'it is unfortunate that..name...... Cannot spell. It gets in the way of being able to enjoy what might have been a good story. As it stands I just cannot be sure. I must mark her accordingly. 3 out of 10 and joy of joy on one momentous occasion 7 out of 10.

    As the heading asks.
Has anyone guessed the name of Justin's love interest?
I know I sort of shouted at CB for the Jeff & Maddie thingy but that has been obvious from PG's story line. Justin's is all my own imagination and to be finally revealed tomorrow. It would be good if any guesses came direct to me by PM so as not to spoil it for everyone so get guessing and I will empty, yet again, my boxes.

SE, thanks for the idea, it's been a fun week. Some of the stories are brilliant.

The only guess I have for Justin (not saying) don't think he would cope with!

    Hope Jimbo's okay.

Ok, speaking of moving on, I must pry myself away from all this merriment and get to some chores. My labor of love, my garden, beckons. Planting lavender, rosemary and manzanita today.
That was my initial reaction to to very thought of a LUSE 2nd edition.
Do you dry your stuff? I dont much like it when it is done but I use a spare room occasionally to hang some sprigs. I love the smell for about 6 weeks then I end up throwing the lot.

Pips. You never know, you might just be correct. Look at it this way, write your answer on a piece of paper and hide it until tomorrow. If you are right I will believe you.

I have asked about Jim/Lurch with no answers yet. I have one last idea which I will try if nothing comes through in the next few days.
