    The LUSE Contest

**************** LUSE IS NOW OPEN may the best person win *******************

Let Me Get The Story Post in next please. Well step one failed. I just cannot get a second post going so it all has to be here. Story first then rules.
    *********************************************
The Story you have all been waiting for. The lives and loves and passage hopping of our two hero's and various other bit players.
    MONDAY
it was a very rare week off for our fighters for the truth and after much discussion Justin and Maddie decided on a visit to the Myan Casino.
They has only just arrived when all hell was let loose as several ugly people were thrown out for being boring. Maddie tossed her latest cute hairstyle and remarked to Justin 'thats more room for us and we can concentrate on trying to win some of those lovely rubies. If we won enough I could have a belt made to go with my new slinky dress. I meant to ask you. What do you think about some added to my next best pair of work boots, just stylishly round the steel toecaps?'

    TUESDAY
'Well' said Justin 'I am getting a tad bored with this now Mads. Can we like make off and do something more interesting now. Sewing/sticking rubies has gone far enough.' Mads was a bit miffed because she so liked the way all those rubies glittered but if you are in the same show you have just got to make an effort to get along and to see the other persons point of view. She had a plan!!!!!! Now Jeff had last been seen hanging out in Unicornopea and she was getting rather fond of Jeff but how to get Justin to go there. More importantly how to get Justin to a) think it was all his idea and b) to try and tie him down to who it was that actually had caught his eye.
While she was ruminating a great shout echoed up and down the casino. Another new realm, what! More shouting, it was getting difficult to hear. They pushed their way to the front where a Lola or Lola clone was explaining. An Air world had appeared out of nowhere and it was unlike anything else ever seen in any of the Passages. The only thing on this world was a desert like site. This really needed the best minds to determine what is happening, Lola explained that Mads father, Blue, Jeff and most of the other daring do good guys had gone on ahead but that she had been summoned to find the amazing twosome and get them there as soon as possible. Then, thankfully, her job was done and she would appear no more in this storylet.
So much for our vacation they said to each other as they started off......
    WEDNESDAY
The trip through the passage was an adventure in itself. There were strange intersections, doors that were partially open showing various enticing vistas some so obviously not of SPland, some were recognisable from history and one that could be of the future. After what seemed like forever a door with a red light above it came in to view, justin was jumping up and down in anticipation as they got closer so was very disappointed when Maddie's father stuck his head out. Daddy greeted them with a grumbling 'how come it took you so long. We have been here for ages and I have even had time to return home for your mother. "What" exclaimed Justin "you mean Auntie Faith is here? She has never left home for as long as I have known her. How have you managed that Uncle Rupert?" "Dont forget she was a seeker too before she retired to bring up Maddie and to look after you while your parents were away" "Oh, of course. I had forgotten." Replied Justin looking slightly pink. "Right lets get you inside and give you the fourpenny tour. Then you can have a nice cool drink of your liking and you can re-aquaint yourselves with some old friends" said Rupert leading them on. "We have got quite a party going on. This is the most perfect Utopia and the best place you will ever find to chill and relax in. It is known only to the few of us who are here and one other. We had to tell Lola and I just hope she has not told....."
There was an enormous crash and................
    THURSDAY
The door of the Passage had burst on and out was pooring a group of the most despicable villains from all over the worlds that our valiant twosome had discovered. There was the black robed evil queen, the very small pirate, a guy in a mask plus others two numerous to mention all lead by a pipe smoking Lola who was wielding a trident. The others were all carrying weapons perloined from different regions and sites. Spears, swords, rotten fruit, that sort of thing. At the same time the noise that they had all heard was another SP door bursting into existence oposite the original. Out of this came the heros, the gods, the unicorns who had permitted some of the humans to ride them, the little people (dwarfs, imps and the odd goblin who had got into the story by mistake). The two sides came together with a crash and some green smoke that Merlin threw into the affray just to muddy the waters. The seakers group quickly overcame their suprise, Rupert thrust Faith behind him, Jeff shielded Maddie and very surprisingly Justin turned to support................
    FRIDAY
More people tried to enter from the baddies side. One was Cruela De Vile from 101 dalmations and her two raty looking henchmen and close by was the evil queen from Smow White. Disney was well represented but as suddenly as they appeared a giant had swept them away and a voice could be heard muttering about 'we cannot afford the royalties'. The tide of the battle was already turning, while the baddies had the help of surprise the good guys were the most valient, strong of character, pure of heart, there was no stopping them. The baddies were fourced back through there makeshift passage and it was sealed by the Gods. Posiadon gathered them all together and explained that the passage had always been unstable as the minds that had fashioed it were unstable. A surprise to some was the knowledge that the mind set of the maker always influenced the passage. The multi mind instability could cause the passage to implode and if that happened all the nasties would disappear for good. The unforunate thing for the side of rite was that this would not be known for several years. Then Athena stepped forward and turned to the assembly, 'we the good guys give this new place along with the unique passage to the Seakers. To be there forever as a place of relaxation from the stresses of their working lives'. The gods then gathered the mutitude of good guys together and lead them through the stable passage and away.
Rupert with his arm round Faiths shoulders looked at the others who were left.............
    SATURDAY
'Hopefully we shall have no more excitement from now on' said Rupert 'I see a lot of the people who were here before have been swept away by the Gods'. This only left a few speakers, definately not enough for a party. After a short meeting, seakers not being ones for authority even when it is them. They decided to put the word out firstly to the retired seakers who were scattered about all the known worlds, that there was a place they could come to where they could rest their weiry bones and would not be pestered to keep saving worlds. Then to all the active seakers of which there are only about two dozen at any one time. For these is was to be a place to meet up, leave messages, visit retired family members, truely a seaker Utopia. Rupert, who was acting as unofficial chairman closed the meeting, looked across at where our four hero's were standing and said 'Dont you have something to say to us Jeff and Maddie. Do you others want to speak as well or are you waiting for us to find your Parents Justin and ...........
    SUNDAY
Jeff stepped up to the mark holding very tightly to Maddie's hand. He addressed Justin and Faith with the normal blah, blah, hand in marriage, blah. I know I am rather a bit older but I care, blah blah. The most interesting of the things he said was that he was prepared to be a very modern husband, provided they gave their consent, there would be no breaking up of the Maddie - Justin parnership provided Mads and Just wanted to continue and now that they had their own Utopia they could actually stop sneaking round corners hiding and meeting only when it was part of the major story line. Rupert and Faith (of course) were happy to give their consent. Another soft wave of slight excitement went through the rest of the company as a rather battered couple stumbled through the proper passage doorway, clutching on to each other as if a bit squiffy. Justin, who had been watching the Jeff, Maddie, Faith, Rupert conversation with great interest holding tightly on to the hand of.... Turned round, did a double take and keeping hold of the hand and dragging the rest of the body with him went running over to the couple who were of course his Dad and Mum. Rather breathlessly he blurted out, 'Mum, Dad I think you have met Brillianti before. Well as soon as you have got your breath, had a shower, caught up on all that ihas been happening with Aunt and Uncle and had a short rest, we are going to get married' then more hugging and loads of cross conversations were started and some were even finished. They was a great deal of merriment, only a small amount was due to alcohol, great plates of food appeared courtesy of the Gods. A few days later all the preperations had been finalised and two very lovely brides steped forward to be united with their men. They had a blissful honeymoon as everyone else left so they had Utopia to themselves until of course the next emergency arose. OH! Whats this! You want to know who is Justins partner! Thats easy it is.............

Usual Disclaimer shortened to UD means in my opinion, limited to my game, my style of play, in my experience, only speaking for myself, I am only giving my own opinion of my game play I would also cordially like to remind you that everyone not only plays differently but everyone had different games so what is right/works for one may not for another. It is NOT a one size fits all. I am still having fun.

    Overall: Net Gain: 12,500 coins

    Day 1
I've been wandering in the jungle for a while now surviving off the occasional stand of bananas or some coconuts. I'm not sure how long it's actually been. Day after night after day...it all seems to blend together when you're lost and alone. Today, hacking my way through the overgrown vines with a machete I found near a long abandoned ancient temple, I came across a structure hidden by time for what must be centuries. I approached slowly, not sure what I had found. I could feel eyes watching me, but it was probably just the never ending snakes and beautiful birds in the trees above. As I got close to an opening, I saw a piece of parchment attached to the wall. Expecting something indecipherable in a long dead language, I peered deeply at the writing. It's English (!) and tells of a slot machine tournament: 10,000 coins per day for 7 days to enter. I dig into my recently cleaned backpack and search for the large pouch of coins I've looted from buildings along my journey. I pushed open the door...

    Day 2
I didn't do so well on day one, down 18,500. Looking around the room I see I'm not alone! I can hear different accents and languages. This place must be some kind of rest spot for weary travelers from around the world, tired of searching and questing and looking for a little diversion. Although everyone seems to know each other, there seems to be a lot of grumbling about wonky shelves, weird trades and small scenes, as well as general bickering over machines. It's like a big dysfunctional family. Kinda makes me homesick... Hoping for better results in my spins today.

    Day 3
Did better at the slots yesterday, but I'm still down. Oh well, less to carry around when I continue on my way. Telling day from night is impossible here, more disorienting than the jungle. Just like any other casino I've ever been in, the lights are the same whether it's 2:00am or 2:00pm. And no clocks...never any clocks! I've been trying to keep track of the days by watching the food that mysteriously shows up in the small buffet next to the Mayan warrior statue. Meat and eggs...must be morning; peeled shrimp...probably evening...but it's just a guess. Regardless, I've been carving notches in a wooden tiki with my hunting knife to keep my grasp of time somewhat grounded. The passage of time has become so relative that I'm not sure if I've actually slept since I've been here. If you've ever spent a weekend in Vegas, you know what I mean. I need to make my spins, but I think it's time to find a way out of here...

    Day 4
The slots were much kinder to me yesterday. The downside is my backpack is heavier, but it's a trade-off I'll gladly take. After my spins, I started looking for a door, or even a window to jump through. Nothing! I've spent hours walking as close to the walls as possible, but I can't find a single one...including the one I used to enter in the first place. I've heard muted voices whispering through the casino about a "portal," but I don't know what that is or where it might be. I'm pretty sure I'm walking in circles since I've seen the same poison flower three or four times. I've tried using my compass, but it's useless. No matter which direction I turn, the heading points SE. Is that some kind of clue to the way out of here? What is this place? Am I hallucinating? Did somebody put something in that goblet of wine I found?

    Day 5
I woke up propped against a fake palm tree in a corner of the casino that I haven't seen before. Don't know how I got here, or with whose help. I don't remember spinning yesterday, but checking my journal, I see that I'm still up and I've hit 50k on the 6th spin the last two days. Gotta make a note to play 6 on the roulette wheel when I get a chance. With the sound slot machines echoing, I stand up groggily and try to keep my balance. My head is pounding like a drum to a tribal beat, and my vision is kinda blurry. After a few blinks, I realize that it's not my eyes that are blurry, but that the entire casino has been enveloped in a dense fog. As I take a few unsteady steps forward, a staircase eerily appears from the murkiness, and a dim light is shining at the top. Could this be the portal I've heard about? If I enter it now, will I be able to finish the tournament? I'd better spin before going any further...

    Day 6
The slots giveth and the slots taketh away. Yesterday they hit me hard, but I'm still in the black. As I approach the creepy staircase, I discover that it is blocked by an equally creepy gate. To the right, there is a small table with an old weathered hotel front desk bell. OK...I'll bite...I ring the bel, and out of the fog a lanky character with sunken cheeks in a dark suit suddenly appears.
    "You rang?" he says.
    "What's upstairs?" I respond.
"It will cost you 10 PTs to find out."
Even though they are precious, I have a few left over after all the digging for necklaces so I hand them over.
"Hmmmm," he says as the gate slowly opens, and he disappears back into the mist.
The stairs are steep, and it's a long climb. I notice out if the corner of my eye that a slot machine is hovering, following me up. I finally reach the top of the staircase, trying to catch my breath, and step out onto a deserted train platform...Platform C4. I hope that doesn't mean something is about to blow up!
While I wait for whatever is going to come down that track, I'd better make my spins. Having a slot machine right next to me is very convenient, but this could get expensive!

    Day 7
The Midnight Train pulls into the station. The doors open, and I climb aboard. Making my way to the club car, the passageway is filled with digital rotating images of places I've visited...Egypt, Polynesia, Rio, Transylvania, even the Circus...lots of great memories. The club car tables are filled with familiar faces: Justin and Maddie, her father, the lady called Blue, as well as Detective Temple. He can't take his eyes off Maddie, but it's hard to tell if it's personal or professional interest. Off in the corner are dwarves, mer-people, Vikings and Knights of the Camelot court. Throughout the room, there are others like me with bulging backpacks and bleary eyes from searching for small items in darkened rooms. Some are scribbling notes perhaps telling their own fantastical stories, or maybe they are just jotting down their slot tourney scores. Others seem to be chatting amiably as my slot machine and I make our way to a table by the window, and the train begins to move. Kingston glides through the cabin collecting relics from everyone for passage, giving them rubies in return. Within seconds, the train is moving at the speed of light. This is it! I've found the mystical portal!

Through the window images whoosh by, but I do get brief glimpses of even more Passage stops: Rome, Paris, London, Venice and even Tortuga. A holographic signpost suddenly appears in front of my eyes with arrows pointing to DR, NR, CoS and EG. My exploration of the last two has been limited. Sightseeing is nice, but like all good capitalists, it's rubies I'm after, and since the slots haven't been very good to me in that regard lately, I'll keep my focus on amassing gem shards and upgrading the desert for now. As I try to figure out how many shards I need and where I need to go to get them, someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn to see Justin behind me with one of his goofy grins.

    "Where you headed?" he asks.
I'd heard he was really shy so while trying to process that it was really him who approached me and spoke, I forgot the question.
    "Sorry?" I lamely say.
"I just wondered where you are going and if you needed some company," he said.
"Ummm....sure, that'd be great," I stammer, feeling my face blush as red as a pomegranate. "Before we go though, I need to finish my slot tourney spins if you don't mind," I continue with a school girl giggle.
"No problem," he says as he takes a seat next to me.
"Wow," I say under my breath.

Dreaming of what the future might hold, I turn to my trusty slot machine and make my last tournament spins...

    lol Day One:

Entered Mayan Indian casino. Said hello to Justin and Maddie. Found an unoccupied slot machine away from any nearby smokers. Opened my money bags and proceeded to insert 10,000 coins (note to self...tomorrow use a credit card). I repeated this 9 more times as required by contest rules. I will be sending my doctor bill for carpel tunnel syndrome treatment to contest moderators post haste. I achieved the following results:

    Spin #1 won 4,500 -3 panthers -1 roman soldier
Spin #2 won 8,000 -3 roman soldiers -1 red lily
    Spin#3 won 4,500 -3 red lilies -1 panther

    Spin#5 won 10,000 -1 SP medallions -3 roman soldiers

    Spin#10 won 10,000 -3 SP medallions -1 panther

    Total Bet: 100,000 coins
    Total won: 78,000 coins
Net loss: -22,000 coins (I won't be able to buy the baby a new pair of shoes now)

    Day Two:

As I approached the casino today I noticed what appeared to be two women in deep discussion. As I got closer, I saw it was really one woman and a man in drag. The woman who had a heavy German accent was saying how she likes to serve Spam as a dish to others but doesn't care to have to eat it herself. The man in drag was yelling about how he was being cheated by some company that had the initials PG. I noticed the slogan on his sweater read "You Can Never Have Enough Trees". They both gave me a dirty look when they saw me so I chose to IGNORE them and went blissfully on my way.

I entered the casino, waved to Maddie and Justin, and then made a beeline to the non-smoking section. On my way there I passed the British lady with red hair and blonde highlights who had approached me yesterday. She was sitting next to some guy reading the comics who looked a lot like Lurch from the old Addams Family television show.

I decided the heck with spending all my time at one machine today when there were all those other lovely machines calling my name. I played on ten different machines and these are the results:

    Spin#1 won 5,000--3 corn -1 Roman soldier
    Spin#2 won 11,500--3 SP medallions-1 Roman soldier
    Spin#3 won 10,000--3 SP medallions-1Roman soldier
    Spin#4 won 50,000 (yowza)--4 panthers
    Spin#5 won 11,500--3 SP medallions-1 Roman soldier
    Spin#6 won 10,000--3 Roman soldiers-1 Panther
    Spin#7 won 8,000--3 SP medallions-1 Roman soldier
    Spin#8 won 25,000--4 corn
    Spin#9 won 4,500--3 corn-1 Panther
    Spin#10 won 10,000-- 3 SP medallions-1 corn

100,000 bet versus 145,500 won for a net gain of 45,500 coins today

Two day total shows net overall gain of 23,500 coins

    Day Three:

Today I once again felt the urge to try my luck at the Mayan Indian Casino. As I approached, I noticed the two surly broads from yesterday were nowhere to be seen. It's as if my ignoring them made them disappear. (yes IGNORE is a wonderful setting I highly recommend, but I digress)

I entered and saw no sign of Maddie, Justin or the lady with the unique hair color. Hmm, curious, I wonder where they went? I made my way to my usual non-smoking section and passed a new player who gave me a big smile. (what strange teeth I thought) I said hi, but the toothy player recoiled in horror. I guess the garlic pizza I had for breakfast gave me really bad breath. (see post #35)

    My results:

    1 25,000 ---4 corn
    2. 11,500---3 SP 1 P

3 day total overall gain of 21,000 coins

Day 4 (notice I posted after 9:00 a.m. California time, Sheriff lady)

I once again find myself at the Mayan Indian Casino. (I think I might be developing a gambling addiction) For the first time I notice that there is a shack made out of wine bottles tucked behind the casino. I silently saluted the wino who lived there for being so creative in their recycling.

I entered the casino and made my way to my favorite slot machine in the non-smoking section. I was just getting settled in when all of the sudden the casino doors swung open and a woman (who was way overdressed for such a humble jungle casino) sauntered in like she owned the place. As she passed by me, I caught a whiff of her overpowering perfume. After I could breathe again, I played my machine with the following results: (see post #46)

    1. 25,000---4 C
    2. 5,500---3 L 1 SP
    3. 11,500---3 R 1 P

    100,000 bet 112,500 won 12,500 gain

4 day total overall gain of 33,500 coins

    Day 5

Here I am again, once more tromping off through the jungle to play the slots at the Mayan Indian Casino. I heard through the g****vine ( pun attended) that there is some kind of special event going on this weekend in another part of the jungle. Something about digging pearl necklaces out of the dirt. I was told to watch out for a greedy blue bandit with crazed eyes and a tendency to endlessly talk. I thought that would be a person it would be smart to avoid if at all possible or to iGNORE if I did happen to see them.

I entered the casino, made my way to my lucky slot machine and proceeded to play. Results as follows:

    Spin 1. 8,000
    Spin 2. 10,000
    Spin 3. 8,000
    Spin 4. 10,000
    Spin 5. 11,500
    Spin 6. 25,000
    Spin 7. 5,500
    Spin 8. 5,500
    Spin 9. 8,000
    Spin 10. 5,500
    Free Spin 8,000

100,000 bet 105,000 won +5,000 for the day 5 day overall gain of 38,500 coins

    Day Six

Once again I found myself at (can you guess?) the Mayan Indian Casino. I really have to get ahold of this gambling habit. I entered and made my way to my usual section. Today I passed a dapper looking gent wearing a white dress shirt and black bow tie. His dinner jacket was placed over the slot machine in front of him and he seemed to be holding a conversation with the slot machine. Odd, I thought. Is this guy crazy or very nearsighted. (see post # 6)

    My results for today:

    Spin 1. 25,000
    Spin 2. 25,000
Spin 3. 25,000 Wow can my luck hold!
    Spin 4. 6,000 Ok,back to reality
    Spin 5. 8,000
    Spin 6. 6,000
    Spin 7. 8,000
    Spin 8. 11,500
    Spin 9. 10,000
Spin 10. 25,000 Ended with another big one. Gambling was so good today, I'm going to see if Mr. Dapper will let me buy him a drink at the wino's wine bar out back.

    Bet: 100,000 Won: 149,500 Today's gain: 49,500

    6 day cumulative: +88,000

    Day Seven

When I got to the casino today, there was a bouncer out front handing out Gamblers Annonymous pamphlets. I took one, but told the bouncer I really didn't have a problem. I was only there for the contest that was ending today, and I did not plan to return again anytime soon after it was over. He asked why and I told him that the machines mainly spit out coins that meant nothing to me because I was so rich anyway. He said what about the rubies. I said what rubies? I have been here all week and haven't seen even one lousy ruby. My results:

    Spin 1. 4,500
    Spin 2. 11,500
    Spin 3. 4,000
    Spin 4. 11,500
    Spin 5. 11,500
    Spin 6. 6,000
    Spin 7. 6,000
    Spin 8. 8,000
    Spin 9. 6,000
    Spin 10. 10,000

Bet 100,000 Won 79,000 Net loss for the day -21,000

Cumulative for the week: +67,000 coins 0 rubies

I happened to leave the casino at the same time that Maddie and the dapper fellow from yesterday were leaving arm in arm. They looked very cosy and it looked like they were off to have a good time somewhere. Justin and Jeff were not going to be pleased about this turn of events. It just goes to show that any woman's head can be turned by a man who smells nice and can pull off a dinner jacket. THE END

Day One: iPhone game. iPad game to follow later when I have time to recuperate from the first set of slot machines.
    Spin 1 won 25,000
    Spin 2 won 25,000
    Spin 3 won 6,000
    Spin 4 won 8,000
    Spin 5 won 11,500

    Spin 10 won 5,000
    Total bet 100,000
    Total won 105,500
    Net gain 5,500 coins.
Actually won some coins and I can use them in this game. Probably lose them tomorrow but we will be positive today!
So now that I recuperated from round one. Here is round 2 on my iPad game.
    Spin 1 won 10,000
    Spin 2 won 25,000
    Spin 3 won 5,500
    Spin 4 won 25,000
    Spin 5 won 5,000
    Spin 6 won 4,000
    Spin 7 won 4,500
    Spin 8 won 5,000
    Spin 9 won 25,000
    Spin 10 won 5,500
For a total winning in coins ( I really don't need more) of 114,500. Won 14,500 more than I started with. Too bad no rubies.
So here we are today after a challenging day of searching passages for sliver vases and mortal and pestles and green beans that look strangely like green beads a weary seeker stops at the casino and finds that you can exchange coins for rubies. Alas the seeker finds that this must be a myth because all that happens is her coin stash just changes. Those rubies must be very allusive.
    iPhone game:
    Spin 1 won 4,500
    Spin 2 won 11,500
    Spin 3 won 10,000
    Spin 4 won 4,000
    Spin 5 won 10,000
    Spin 6 won 6,000
    Spin 7 won 25,000
    Spin 8 won 11,500
    Spin 9 won 10,000
    Spin 10 won 6,000
Total bet 100,000 total winnings 88,500 for a loss of 11,500 and a 2 day loss of 6,000.
    iPad game
    Spin 1 won 50,000
    Spin 2 won 6,000
    Spin 3 won 11,500
    Spin 4 won 5,500

    Spin 6 won 6,000
    Spin 7 won 8,000
    Spin 8 won 5,500
    Spin 9 won 4,500
    Spin 10 won 4,500
Total of 109,500. Winnings of 9,500 and a total winnings of 23,500.
So after watching hundreds of video ads for casino type games, a weary and hot seeker wanders into the casino and decides why download another one when this one is here and decides to throw out some of those hard one coins. Hoping to change some of those coins one of these days into rubies. Coins are much easier to come by and she really needs rubies.

So the seeker decided today to go looking for food. She found a nice fried egg, a cinnamon roll, a blueberry muffin and a nice cup of coffee for breakfast. At lunch she stopped by the British Isle Inn and had some fish and chips and found a nice stein of beer hidden in Germany under a pumpkin. Then for tea time she found some cookies and brownies and of course a nice cup of tea. Then off for the evening meal she found a nice barbecue dinner but had a really hard time finding a glass of wine. It seems that the glasses and bottles were all empty. Someone named Vinoball and another named Debz had emptied them all but searching in the mines of all places she found a bottle they had missed. Such a lovely day. Stay tuned for tomorrow's episode Secret Passages on the LUSE. Oh and the spins for the day

I have enjoyed reading everyone's stories. You are much more creative than I am. I needed my sister to write for me. She is the creative one with pen and paper. It has been a fun contest. I have enjoyed the week.

    Daily summary lost 21,500

Running total for days 1-2 lost 12,500
At least now I do not need to worry about not having anything to spend my winnings on!

Ok and here is day 3 bright and early
    Spin 1 won 5,000
    Spin 2 won 5,000
    Spin 3 won 10,000
    Spin 4 won 10,000

    Spin 7 won 11,500
    Spin 8 won 5,000
    Spin 9 won 10,000
    Spin 10 won 25,000

The last spin saved the day, but still down 6,500 overall and down 19,000 for days 1-3

Day 4. Had no trouble finding the casino today, the daily quest sent me right next door for five searches. However the clientele is going downhill rapidly, lots of odd looking characters and not a Dinner jacket in sight, except the one I am wearing. Seems to be the same bunch in here every day, but some of them should trying leaving and going home for a shower occasionally. Finally found a seat next to a rather attractive one arm bandit (no not Dr. Tammy). She smiled nicely at me, so I pulled her 10 times. Wished I had not bothered as behind that shiny exterior she was cold as ice and happily took my 100,00 gold coins giving very little back in return.

    Spin 1 won 8,000
    Spin 2 won 8,000
    Spin 3, won 4,500
    Spin 4, won 6,000
    Spin 5, won 6,000

    Spin 8, won 11,500
    Spin 9, won 10,000
    Spin 10, won 11,500

Somehow she persuaded me I had won her 10 times but still managed to separate me from 18,500 gold coins, almost doubling my overall loss for days 1-4 to 37,500.

Day 5. Had trouble getting to the casino today as I was away with the fairies completing 8 searches for a three part quest. Finally found my way back and suitably attired I entered the casino. I found that they had upgraded the Bandits to the new talking variety. Hello I said to the bandit as I sat down. Hi she said in reply, what's your name? Bond I replied. James she asked? No, Mike, James is my kid brother and gets my hand me down dinner jackets. What's your name I asked politely? Tammy she replied. That's a strange name I said what does it mean? it stands for Take All My MoneY she replied. Happy to oblige!

    Spin 1 won 5,000
    Spin 2 won 50,000!
    Spin 3 won 10,000
    Spin 4 won 10 rubies!!
    Spin 5 won 5,500
    Spin 6 won 4,000
    Spin 7 won 10,000
    Spin 8 won 4,500
    Spin 9 won 11,500
    Spin 10 won 10,000

Overall won 10,500 and 10 rubies. So now down 27,000 coins but up 10 rubies. not sure what the exchange rate is.

Thanks very much I politely said as I left. Come back tomorrow, you have a gold finger Tammy encouraged. Not sure I said, depends on SE the sherif sets the rules. May have to be live and let die.

Day 6 of this never ending saga! Decided to get in the casino bright and early today whilst waiting for the daily tasks to appear. Found a huge queue of disheveled individuals smelling of cheap Chianti lined up in front of Tammy. Seems news of her generosity to me has spread and everyone wants some of her rubies. Decided to wander around and in a quiet secluded corner found a bandit whose instructions were all in Spanish. She batted her Spanish eyes at me 'want to play with me seņor?' She asked. How could I refuse? I pulled up a seat and we started chatting about how unpleasant Manchester airport was when busy and our favourite parts of Spain. I prefer Madrid and the surrounding cities, but she turned out to be a beach babe fond of Allicante and Benidorm. When I touched her she was cold as metal so like the English gentleman I am I removed my DJ and hung it over her shoulders before taking her for a spin 10 times and hitting the jackpot.

Spin 1 won 25,000 nice start
    Spin 2 won 6,000
    Spin 3 won 8,000
Spin 4 won 50,000 JACKPOT 4 Sheriff badges
    Spin 5 won 4,500
    Spin 6 won 5,500
    Spin 7 won 5,000
    Spin 8 won 10,000
    Spin 9 won 6,000
    Spin 10 won 6,000

No rubies from the Spanish machine I guess she still needs them all herself, but a profit of 26,000 coins on the day. So overall now down just 1,000 coins but up 10 rubies which has got to be a profit! It all comes down to the last day, which bandit will I favour tomorrow? Tammy? SE? Or maybe one of the other bandits will catch my eye.

So here is the final thrilling installment:

Struggled to get back to the casino today as yesterday’s quest left me doing endless searches deep in the Egyptian underworld. However I managed to fight my way back past all the mummy’s, Scarab beetles etc and ended up in Mayan again. To my surprise the casino was under new ownership and there was a bouncer on the door. He was turning away all the dishevelled individuals who looked like they had spent the night in a skip, but he took one look at my white dinner jacket, clean shirt, bow tie and polished shoes and opened the door for me. He was a solidly built guy who resembled an elephant and told me his name was Patrick George O’Brian but that his friends just called him PGBrian. He explained that the previous owners had been bankrupted by the dishevelled individuals who had been fooling the one-armed bandits with trashy Euro coins which only looked like solid gold. Apparently they had been trying to raise enough gold to fund a bail out for Greece.

The casino was totally deserted at this time in the morning, but as I wandered around deciding which machine to try my luck with today a young couple entered. They were dressed for hiking and I was surprised they got past the bouncer. However, the young lady who had striking red hair explained that they were friends of the bouncer. We got chatting and I found out they were called Maddie and Justin and that they had spent the last two years travelling the world (and other places) together. I was somewhat surprised that despite their two years together they were not a couple. Maddie explained that Justin was a bit shy and slow in that way and anyway she preferred older men, especially if they had an honourable job like a detective. I subtly ran my hand through my greying hair and gave her my most charming smile and a few minutes later we were exiting the casino together leaving a disgusted looking Justin behind.

On the way out I suggested we stop at one of the bandits and try our luck. If we win enough gold I said we could spend tonight in a 5 star hotel rather than a tent. I know some great hotels in Mumbai and Singapore, but unfortunately there are no secret passages to those places yet (subtle hint!). OK she agreed it would be nice to have a long luxurious bath for a change. As we sat down at the closest bandit a very attractive lone lady entered the casino. She was wearing a stunning red dress with a sheriff badge pinned on it and I got a sharp jab in the ribs from Maddie for looking at her. She came over and we got chatting. She explained that she was hoping to get lucky as this was her last day at the casino and was looking for someone tall, dark and handsome. We pointed her in Justin’s direction but suggested that she may have to take the lead as he was but shy and not very experienced.

I had no luck with the bandit, losing 31,500 gold coins in the day and ending the week 32,500 coins down but 10 rubies up. Never mind I said to Maddie we should be able to do something with these rubies, yes it’s a start she agreed but you are going to need tens of thousands of them to keep me happy. Anyway I was not too disappointed, you know what they say: unlucky at gambling…. As we left the casino we heard music coming from inside:

Lady in red is dancing with me
    Cheek to cheek
    There's nobody here
    Except you and me…

So it looks like everyone gets to live happily ever after.

Expected a gain today as it’s been gain/ loss, gain/ loss all week but no it’s the worst day ever.

Total for Week: Loss of 6,500 coins and not a single measly ruby.

After 3 months at the Luau party I decided to go back and visit some old haunts. I stumbled across the casino and thought perfect. To my shock I noticed Maddie and Justin. I sheepishly walked past. After a disastrous weekend in the crypt I had threatened to dunk their heads in a bucket of water unless they were nicer to me. To my surprise Maddie came across and sprinkled some of Justin's antique magic sand over my slot machine. Wow that stuff really works, I must go and celebrate in the British Isles Inn.
Feeling still lucky and a bit hungover I revisited the casino only to see Maddie and Justin being rushed out the door by a strangely dressed lady. Alas my luck was beginning to run out!

Where have all the rubies gone? Surely Maddie can't have taken them all, maybe they're disappearing into the desert of this new world! Mmmm maybe I should follow that strange pull towards the portal and see what's going on!

I hear a high pitched squeal ‘No, don’t go there, there’s already too much open’ sounds like Justin. My curiosity gets the better of me and I dive in. I'm faced with a strange passage aptly named ‘Crisis’ I'm going to need a sharp eye to figure this one out and save the day! Wandering along I discover so many doors, one has a red light, looks a bit dodgy/ suspect so I hurry past. Going here and there and round and round, back and forth I'm getting very dizzy. Suddenly I'm in a familiar place, the casino, so full of jolly folk now with empty bottles everywhere, looks like I missed a party. I squeeze past to my slot machine.

After a slight loss I fall asleep, when I awake I have another gamble, why not? I see a smartly dressed stranger, wearing a dinner jacket, standing by the door with a look of disgust on his face, like he can smell rotten eggs. I think I’d better visit the bath house today!

The bath house is deserted, looks like everyone is packing up and leaving. The water is nice and relaxing although I’m not sure about sharing with starfish, goldfish, swan. The racoon, mouse and frog are slightly worrying too. I feed on g****s and figs but the Chianti bottle is empty.
I wander out into the sunshine and follow a path through a gateway. Feeling like I need some spiritual guidance I enter the monastery. Inside it is cool and in a dark corner I find a hidden trap door covered in cobwebs. Behind the trap door I discover a narrow passage lined with dusty gold urns full of coins. There’s an odd, Lurch like, character stooped over a pile of coins muttering something about a secret. At the end of the passage I find myself, once again, (you guessed it) back at the casino!

Well that’s it then, I've lost all my coins and not a ruby in sight!
Some new bouncer guy approaches me and says I'm not suitably dressed and should leave, ‘don’t worry I'm going anyway these machines are rigged!’ he just laughs.
I plod down the casino steps, see an eccentric lady in red on a motorbike, try to thumb a lift but she says she’s way too busy looking for her Lurchy Love. I tell her I think he’s become a monk and she roared off at great speed towards the monastery. Weary from an adventurous and exciting week away I'm feeling a little homesick (who wouldn't miss the bronzed surfers), besides I'm about to miss my hula class. I decide to return to my surf shack. Along the way a seagull tells me of some exciting seekers who will soon be joining me in Hawaii. I hurry along planning a welcoming beach party with ukulele music, bronzed surfers, tropical blue drinks and floral leis (would I LIE). Let’s just hope they remember the traditional custom of bringing a present for the host!

QI only now realised my yet again stupid writing. LUCE indeed. Stupid am I.

I walked into the room which smelt of tobacco smoke from the 60's and stale beer. The blonde on her own looked friendly so I walked over. She took one look at me and said 'push off buster, I am a serious competionist and dont need any company'. The couple over in the corner were totally involved. She was threading what looked like several hundred rubies onto a red dress and the guy was sticking more to a pair of hobnailed boots. i moved on as the smell coming from the boots was of very old desicated fish that had been left too long in a hot place (pun intended).
Finding a quiet seat I put a 'Reserved for Lurchy' sign on the next seat and started to play.
Days 2 & 3 I kept on playing and at the end of each day I seemed slightly up so I was happy. I did notice the stars had left the building but was not much interested. I just found keeping up two seperate and different stories as well as everything else is too difficult.

First of all, could not find the casino....Had to wade through a bunch of vermin to find a seat. Rats, bugs, moths, squirrels, wombats, Tasmanian Devil, Doormice, mice, kangaroo rats, ants, bees, wasps and such. I believe Justin left his ham sandwich in his backpack again. Maddie was disgusted. When I sterilized the one arm bandit, I was dropping in coins faster than a San Francisco parking meter. Here are my first days results....
    Day 1:

Spin 1 = red lily, red lily, Golden Coin, red lily= 6,000
    Spin 2 = Panther, 3 romans= 11,500
Spin 3 = 4 Panthers!!!! (I thought they were eggplants until Matties post above)
    50,000
    Spin 4 = roman, roman, corn , roman 8,000
    Spin 5 = 3 Gold Coins, roman 8,000
Spin 6 = red lily, red lily, corn, red lily 6,000
    Spin 7= Four Corns!!! 25,000
    Spin 8 = 3 Gold Coins, corn 8,000
    Spin 9 = 3 romans, panther 11,500
    Spin 10= corn, 3 romans 10,000

    Total Investment: 100,000
    Total Return: 144,000
Net gain for Day 1 +44,000 Yipppppeeeee

Money was put in a sock to whack vermin on the way out to the parking lot......Robbed at gunpoint and forced to keep my coins and hand over any extra power tokens and shovels......

Good luck everybody!!! Gave you something to shoot at SE.....

It just dawned on me that nobody says dusk any more.......

I just read an article how porn damages your brain but I did not understand a thing....

People at my 3rd floor gym take the elevator up and then get on a stair climber.....?

They are called "barista's" because "coffee maker" was already taken....

So, walked into the casino, and immediately got held up by a one armed bandit. Robbed me of 100,000 for 10 spins as brain was all foggy from the smoke filled room! Then I found an empty seat in a less fog filled area and got down to business.

    Day 1
    Spin 1: 5,500
    Spin 2: 5,500
    Spin 3: 5,500
    Spin 4: 5,000
    Spin 5: 8,000
    Spin 6: 8,000
    Spin 7: 11,500
    Spin 8: 6,000
    Spin 9: 11,500
    Spin 10: 5,000

Total: 71,500; total loss: 28,500 (someone might want to double check my math!)
Is this like some games where greatest loss wins?

    Day 2
    Spin 1: 5,000
    Spin 2: 8,000
    Spin 3: 10,000
    Spin 4: 8,000
    Spin 5: 8,000
    Spin 6: 25,000
    Spin 7: 4,500
    Spin 8: 11,500
    Spin 9: 5,500
    Spin 10: 5,500

Total Day 2: 91,000, loss 9,000. (Your math was correct SE, mine was wonky.)

    Total 2 day loss: 37,500

Love everyone's stories! Keep them up please.

    Spin 10: 4,000

    Total Day 3: 120,000, gain 20,000

Total 3 day loss: 17,500. (Win 75,000 in 2 spins, and still in the hole)

    Day 4

    Spin 10: 10,000

    Total Day 4: 76,000, lost 24,000

    Total 4 day loss: 41,000

All this gambling in the casino, I thought I lost a couple days. But checking my spreadsheet, I found I just missed recording them. Hope you're still checking the math SE, cuz the casino's making my brain foggier than usual.

I really think these one armed bandits are appropriately named. After being caught in the lure and addiction for 7 days, I think I might be able to break free. But I will need help though. SE, Lurch, Maddie, Justin, HELP free me!

I hope everyone enjoyed this and the so wonderful and unique stories as much as I did! It was fun.

Hey Brian thanks for joining our little contest. State regulated probably by someone at PG headquarters. Can you make them hand out rubies a little more frequently. If you can that would be lovely. We could share them with you.
    Level 117 just in time.

    Day 1

    Spins 1) 11,500
    2) 5,500
    3) 4,500
    4) 4,500
    5) 6,000
    6) 5,500
    7) 4,500

    9) 10,000
    10) 10,000

Total 30,500 loss of coins. No rubies to report.

In the past few weeks I have been gambling here quite a bit to earn rubies to upgrade sites. I usually do the 99,000 bet. In the beginning,I was getting quite a few rubies and I even hit the 600 ruby jackpot twice in an evening( I just keep hitting the button if I am watching TV or reading). Lately it has just been a few hundreds or fiftys. I have lost about 30 mm coins doing this...but I don't have anything else to do with them....

    Day 2 spins

    1) 8,000
    2) 11,500
    3) 8,000

    7) 6,000
    8) 8,000
    9) 25,000
    10)4,000

Total for day 2 is -9,500 coins.

    Total d1 + d2 = -39,500.

    Error in yesterday's math..only lost 30,000 coins.

I am a terrible story teller so I will just read the other imaginative posts and just include my spin results!

    Day 3
    1) 50,000
    2) 6,000
    3) 4,500
    4) 4,000

    6) 5,500
    7) 5,000
    8) 11,500
    9) 8,000
    10) 6,000

    Total for day 3 = +10,500

Total for 3 days = -29,500 still no rubies to report.

    Day 4
    1) 5,000
    2) 25,000
    3) 10,000
    4) 10,000

    6) 5,000
    7) 4,000
    8) 11,500

    Total day 4 +9,500 coins
    Total for 4 days = -20,000
